Scope

The 2nd edition of the International Conference on Soft Material Models (SMM 2025) will take place on April 24–25, 2025, at the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT) in Tunisia. This conference is organized by the Applied Mechanics and Engineering Laboratory of ENIT (LR-MAI) in partnership with four other research laboratories from ENIT (LR-LAMSIN, LR-LGC, LR-LIGG, LR-MOED), Centrale Casablanca (Morocco), Centrale Méditerranée (France), Centrale Pékin (China), the University of Casablanca (Morocco), the University of Tours (France), the University of Lorraine (France), the University of Ningxia (China), and the University of Wuhan (China).

This conference targets material scientists, mechanicians, applied mathematicians, and engineers from academia and industry who are interested in aspects of soft material models. The SMM International Conference will feature invited keynote speakers and a poster session.

PhD students are highly encouraged to submit papers for the poster session. The accepted contributions will be published in conference proceedings Book.

A thematic school on Soft Material Models will also be organized from April, 21 to April, 23 2025. PhD students whose papers have been accepted for the conference will have priority registration for the thematic school.

The International Conference and the Thematic School of Soft Material Models provides a forum for academics and industrialists to exchange on the state-of-the-art in the field and to identify new research directions.

Topics

The International Conference on Soft Material Models and the Thematic School will explore various aspects of modeling science related to the behavior of soft materials and structures. Including experimental, theoretical, and computational research, this event will address the following key areas:

  • Biomechanics
  • Manufacturing process
  • Physical material characterization
  • Additive manufacturing
  • Multiscale and multiphysic modelling
  • Fatigue and fracture of soft materials
  • Civil engineering and geotechnic applications
  • Data science and AI for soft materials
